What is not here, and why
We publish a schedule only when its source can be transcribed without ambiguity. A rate table with mis-parsed rows is worse than none, so where we couldn't read a document reliably, we list it here instead of publishing part of it.
- Kerala works its rates through the PRICE software and publishes no rate book.
- Nagaland prices every item separately for twelve districts, and most rates vary by more than 20% between them, so no single column can stand for the whole state.
- CPWD’s DSR is sold as a printed publication; only its correction slips are online.
- Several state portals serve rates through a login or only from within India.
For those, the Schedule of Rates by state directory gives the publishing department, current edition and official source for every state and union territory in India.
Terms of use
These tables are transcriptions of Schedules of Rates published by Indian government departments. The rates are the departments' work, not ours; each page names the issuing department, the edition, its effective date, and links to the official file it was read from.
They are published free for reference and may be used and redistributed with attribution to the issuing department. They are not an official publication, carry no warranty, and are not a substitute for the department's own document. Departments amend rates through correction slips between editions, so figures here can be superseded without the edition changing. Verify against the official source before pricing a bid or submitting an estimate. Rows we could not transcribe unambiguously were left out, so a schedule here may hold fewer items than its source.
Reading these tables
Each schedule sets the department's accepted rate for an item of work, and a government estimate is built by mapping a project's Bill of Quantities to those items. Three things routinely go wrong: pricing against a superseded edition, because correction slips are published separately from the schedule; picking a nearly-similar item code rather than the exact one; and applying a rate quoted in one unit to a quantity measured in another.
These pages carry each edition's effective date and a link to the department's own file for exactly that reason. They are for reference and are not an official publication, so build your rate analysis from the official source before you submit.
