How to use the Arunachal Pradesh Schedule of Rates

The building schedule of rates sets the department's accepted rate for each item of work, and estimates for Arunachal Pradesh government projects are built by mapping a project's Bill of Quantities to these items. Rates here run from ₹0.30 per litre to ₹91,706.80 per cum, spanning 21 chapters from earthwork through to finishing trades.

Three things routinely go wrong. Estimators price against a superseded edition, because correction slips are published separately from the main schedule. They pick a nearly-similar item code rather than the exact one, which can pass an internal review and still be rejected by the department. And they miss that a rate is quoted for a different unit than the BOQ uses. A litre rate applied to a cum quantity is a large error that looks reasonable on a spreadsheet.
