What the Analysis of Rates gives you
A Schedule of Rates gives one number per item — the accepted rate. The Analysis of Rates shows how that number is built: the quantity of cement, sand, steel, labour and plant that goes into a unit of the work, each priced from the department's Basic Rates, summed, then taken through water charges, GST, contractor's profit and overheads (CPOH) and cess to the rate an estimate actually carries. Every item on these pages shows that full build-up, so you can see exactly why a rate is what it is — and adjust it when a project's inputs differ.
The CPWD DAR is the reference most central-government building work in India is priced against, and it feeds the Delhi Schedule of Rates. For the item-level rates published by each state, see the state Schedule of Rates tables.
Terms of use
These analyses are transcribed from the CPWD Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023 (Civil), published by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD). The rates and their derivation are the department's work, not ours; this page names the edition, its effective date, and links to the CPWD source.
They are published free for reference. This is not an official publication, carries no warranty, and is not a substitute for the department's own document. CPWD amends rates through correction slips between editions, so figures here can be superseded — verify against the official source before pricing a bid or submitting an estimate. Every line was cross-checked against the printed subtotal and the Basic Rates catalog; items that could not be reconciled were left out rather than guessed, so a sub-head here may hold fewer items than its source.
