Under the CPWD Delhi Analysis of Rates 2023 (Civil), item 10.25.1 Steel work welded in built up sections/ framed work, including cutting, hoisting, fixing in position and applying a priming coat of approved steel primer using structural steel etc. as required In stringers, treads, landings etc. of stair cases, including use of chequered plate wherever required, all complete — is derived from 10 priced inputs for 5.331 quintal and works out to ₹123.60 per quintal after water charges, GST, CPOH and cess. The full build-up is below.

  • Consider a flight of staircase of 2.8m height
  • with tread and riser of 200mm & 0.60m
  • wide.
  • (i) Unequal angles as stringers-75x50x6mm
  • 4x12.69x5.6 = 284.25 Kg.
  • Total = 298.46kg. Say 2.985q
  • (ii) unequal angles at sides -50x30x5mm
  • 2x14x0.2x3.00=16.8kg.
  • Total = 17.64 kg. Say 0.176q
  • Total = 3.161q
  • (iii) plate for tread 8mm thick
  • 14x7.5 = 105.00kg+
  • Total = 110.25kg. Say 1.103q
  • (iv) G.I. pipe for rolling 40mm
  • 2x12.69m = 25.38m+

  • (v) M.S. round bars 16mm dia.
